The ‘Tamang Heritage Trail’ is an exciting trekking route located between Langtang and the Ganesh Himal offerering travellers a peek into the every-day lives of the Tamang people who are Nepalese mountain dwellers of the Langtang region. Lying just north of the Kathmandu Valley, this trail is perhaps the most accessible trekking region in Nepal, where you can experience some of the most beautiful scenery in the country and trek through unspoiled Tamang villages while providing a sustainable economic benefit to the community. A culturally rich region steeped in Tibetan tradition, the local Tamang people are some of the warmest and most welcoming people in Nepal.
Day 1: Drive to Syabru Besi by local Jeep (5-6 hours) Alt. 1460m/ 4788ft.
Day 2: Trek to Tatopani Alt. 2607m/ 8550ft. (5 hours)
Day 3: Trek to Thuman Alt. 2338m/ 7668ft. (5 hours)
Day 4: Trek to Timure (optional short hike to Rasuwagadhi and then back to the campsite). Alt 1762m/ 5779ft.( 5 hours)
Day 5: Trek to Briddim Alt. 2229m/ 7311ft. ( 6 hours)
Day 6: Trek to Syabru Besi Alt. 1460m/ 4788ft. (4 hours)
Day 7: Drive back to Kathmandu (6 hours)
